HOW DO I GET SAVED?
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Why do I need Jesus?
It's easy to see the effects of sin in the world, violence, rape, rage, alcohol fueled crime and much more. These things seem like freedom to those who do them, just as living a life rebellious toward God can seem like freedom to you. But the Bible teaches that sin never brings freedom, it always brings bondage. Have you ever told a lie, then been bound by that lie to keep lying, and ended up at a place you never meant to go? Or, have you been angry and found yourself compelled (perhaps beyond restraint) to say things that you never wanted to say?
Bondage and hurt is the result of sin, who wouldn't want to be free of that! Well, the Bible says that God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die in our place and break the bonds of sin. So, through Jesus Christ, we can all be free. Isn't that great news!
To be free from sin we need to choose the One who frees us. God wants us to commit our lives to Him through repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ. This is being saved from sin and from eternal separation from God.
How do I get saved?
The Bible says: "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Rom 10:9). In other words, choose to give your life over to Jesus Christ, tell Him you're sorry for your sins and ask Him for forgiveness. Invite Him to be Lord of your life. Speak these things out to Him and whatever else you want to say to Him, be genuine in these things and you will be given a new heart and a clean slate.
What if I am a Christian?
If you've just prayed and received salvation, or you were already a Christian, you may be thinking "what now?". It's vital that you get yourself in to relationship with other Bible believing Christians and attend a Biblical church. A Biblical church will disciple you and teach you who you are now in Jesus Christ, who God is, and what He wants you to do. You will learn to live victoriously and wholeheartedly after God, and live free like you've never been free before!
